ARE YOU A REGISTERED HOMEOPATH?
There is no requirement by the Australian Government for registration of homeopaths.
I am a professional homeopath, member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society since 1995.
We are bound to abide by a code of ethics, participate in Continuing Professional Education, and have current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
We abide by the Australian Government TGA regulations for supply of natural medicines to patients/clients, and professional practice by non (AHPRA) registered health practitioners.
IS IT BETTER TO SEE A NATUROPATH OR OTHER PRACTITIONERS FOR HOMEOPATHY, RATHER THAN A HOMEOPATH? ARE THEY BETTER QUALIFIED?
It is best to see a homeopath for homeopathic consultation. There are many professional associations which cover homeopaths in Australia. I am a professional member of ATMS. Homeopaths however vary greatly in education, experience, prescribing methods and specialisation.
Naturopaths (and other ingestive natural medicine practitioners) vary greatly in their knowledge and practice (or lack of) of homeopathy.
In recent times, even the limited study of acute remedies in homeopathy has disappeared from professional naturopathy courses.
There are non ingestive practitioners also such as chiropractors, who have no adequate training in homeopathy, yet "prescribe" combination remedies in an allopathic way, i.e. by disease condition.
Further, there are others who "recommend" remedies and protocols, but have no formal training in medical subjects, nor homeopathic philosophies necessary to successful prescribing or assessment of the patient and their reaction to a remedy.
The success of homeopathic prescribing depends upon individualisation of the remedies to the patient, and following homeopathic principles throughout the case taking and follow ups. Giving homeopathically prepared remedies without any consideration of personal indications for a remedy, is not "homeopathy".
DO YOU SELL HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES?
I do not have a public dispensary. I supply homeopathic remedies within a consultation after careful consideration of your case.
As we are bound by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) regulations, practitioner remedies are required to be given within consultation only.
Ask me if you have any questions about this, or you have a prescription from another homeopath. If you have been using homeopathic acute remedies and need refills, ask me. If you need to purchase a kit, please ask.
WHY SHOULD I HAVE A FULL CONSULTATION, IF I “JUST WANT A REMEDY FOR THIS (INSERT CONDITION)” ?
It is futile to keep trying different remedies, without any thought given to the homeopathicity (similarity) to THE PATIENT, NOT THE DISEASE.
Success of homeopathic prescribing depends upon individualisation of the remedies to the patient, AND following homeopathic principles throughout the case taking and follow ups.
The aim is to work through any layers of chronic illness over time, increase your resilience in disease, prevent the development of more serious pathologies.
Homeopathy when managed by a professional homeopath is in the long term very economical and satisfying. The more of your “layers” we deal with, the better you
become, and less medicine is needed. Compare this, with the use of pharmaceutical medicines, where the more you take, the more you need to.
Homeopathy reduces the need for constant use of supplements like vitamins, as your health improves. Compare this also with the "blunderbuss" method of other practitioners, who insist upon MANY different medicines, supplements for a condition.
Having said that, I do occasionally prescribe (practitioner only products) herbs and nutraceuticals as needed. Also Homeobotanicals which are a hybrid of herbs and homeopathics. The main focus is on classical homeopathy.
I have over a quarter century of experience in homeopathic practice, and personally of working out my own remedies in some very intense and difficult personal chronic conditions, with success.
IS THERE A REMEDY IN HOMEOPATHY FOR VERTIGO, VESTIBULAR MIGRAINE, PPPD, BPPV, MENIERE’S DISEASE, DIZZINESS ETC?
Homeopathy now lists over 7000 possible remedies at our disposal.
Synthesis Repertory in the RADAR OPUS homeopathic professional software lists almost 700 remedies for “Vertigo”.
This list is by no means complete. Individualisation to the patient is imperative.
I am working on a course for homeopaths on vestibular disorders, but I need to see a lot more patients with these problems before I complete it. It’s never really complete though, is it?
I decided to specialise, as I have researched much, having been through two major episodes of Vestibular Neuronitis and the many remaining symptoms.
Differences in the two episodes. Different remedies in homeopathy.
I intend to write regular blogs on this, but I will not be suggesting remedies. That is for private consultation for each individual person.
WHY HOMEOPATHY?
To get to the bottom of things. To unpeel the layers of chronic conditions, and get a deep and lasting result, not just ongoing palliative "band aid" treatments.
NO PALLIATIVE TREATMENTS??
Actually, homeopathy can be very helpful when there is little or no hope, to improve quality of life, relieve pains, nausea etc. Sometimes, we get "spontaneous remissions", or we "grow out of" things.
