AM I REGISTERED? CREDENTIALS?
There is no requirement by the Australian Government for registration of homeopaths.
I am a professional homeopath, member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society since 1995.
We are bound to abide by a code of ethics, participate in Continuing Professional Education, and have current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
We abide by the Australian Government TGA regulations for supply of natural medicines to patients/clients, and professional practice by non (AHPRA) registered health practitioners.
See main web page for details of some of my further post graduate studies (a fraction of around 30 years of this!)
ARE YOU A MEDICAL DOCTOR?
Homeopaths in Australia are not required to be medical doctors (although few are). We do complete training in a number of medical subjects, but you should see your doctor for medical diagnosis, and especially in the case of serious or contagious diseases. Homeopaths do not treat diseases. We support our patients in their unique whole person symptom picture, according to homeopathic principles. We do not claim cure of conditions.
We are restricted by government in posting testimonials especially any which mention cure of medical conditions. Please if you use Google reviews, be aware of this stipulation. Please do ask me if in doubt.
DO YOU REFER FOR PATHOLOGY TESTS?
It's important to take any pathology tests which your doctor orders. These are usually free of charge. Beyond this, sometimes I refer for extra tests (such as thyroid extensive, iron studies) with your permission, and your agreement to pay out of pocket. My preferred lab is Nutripath.
CEASE is a method of using clearing and balancing remedies in homeopathy. Orthomolecular supplements are added. None of this is exclusive to CEASE trained homeopaths. To my knowledge, CEASE is a 3 day course. Probably most of this is covered within the Human Chemistry Homeopathy and Natural Balancing practitioner trainings of Ton Jansen - which are approx 7 hours each, 2 days/nights running and many times per year. In 2022 I am completing my 3rd year (with more to come). For more information, see my main page on this site - with link to Ton's Human Chemistry homeopathy, where Im listed as a Human Chemistry and Natural Balancing homeopath. Ton's contribution to homeopathy in the form of new remedies (especially endocrine and hormonal) is just astonishing, and most useful. We can also look to Jon Gamble regarding new toxin clearing remedies.
Notice - I don't advertise "Detox remedies".
'Detox" is a body process which must be proven, for claims to be made of any remedies/supplements used. Using a system such as the nutrigenomic food derived supplements of the GEMM protocol is appropriate.
Regarding Homeopathy, I am prescribing remedies which are indicated for an INDIVIDUAL, according to their background, the personal "Never Been Well Since" events. It is not just "one size fits all".
This could be injuries, accidents, surgeries, infections, anesthesia, and yes - medications.
No claims can be made regarding "detox" of medications. We can only give homeopathic remedies which are indicated, to give the information for the body to heal itself. There is either a healing response (which rarely can be a "healing crisis" such as a rash externalising from internal inflammation), or no response.
That is why it takes time in consultation and gathering personal information. Usually, we are looking at the person, rather than treating a medical condition.
REMEDIES AND ESSENTIAL PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS
Homeopathic remedies generally do not interfere with prescription medications.
You may see some homeopaths talking about "detox remedies" when in fact the effect is more of BALANCING. It is wrong to say that a remedy is "detoxing" during prescribed medication. We do NOT stop an essential prescribed medication from doing it's work. We can support people who have chronic conditions while they are on medications (and possibly you may be able to reduce BUT under guidance and supervision of your Dr).
This must be assessed separately for each individual. As we are using CAM remedies, be sure to tell me what is prescribed by your Dr/specialist and any other medicines you are taking.
Use the Timeline form I send you to record all of these past and present.
IS IT BETTER TO SEE A NATUROPATH OR OTHER PRACTITIONERS FOR HOMEOPATHY, RATHER THAN A HOMEOPATH? ARE THEY BETTER QUALIFIED?
It is best to see a homeopath for homeopathic consultation. There are many professional associations which cover homeopaths in Australia. I am a professional member of ATMS. Homeopaths however vary greatly in education, experience, prescribing methods and specialisation.
Naturopaths (and other ingestive natural medicine practitioners) vary greatly in their knowledge and practice (or lack of) of homeopathy.
In recent times, even the limited study of acute remedies in homeopathy has disappeared from professional naturopathy courses.
There are non ingestive practitioners also such as chiropractors, who have no adequate training in homeopathy, yet "prescribe" combination remedies in an allopathic way, i.e. by disease condition.
Further, there are others who "recommend" remedies and protocols, but have no formal training in medical subjects, nor homeopathic philosophies necessary to successful prescribing or assessment of the patient and their reaction to a remedy.
The success of homeopathic prescribing depends upon individualisation of the remedies to the patient, and following homeopathic principles throughout the case taking and follow ups. Giving homeopathically prepared remedies without any consideration of personal indications for a remedy, is not "homeopathy".
DO YOU SELL HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES?
I do not have a public dispensary. I generally supply homeopathic remedies within a consultation after careful consideration of your case.
As we are bound by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) regulations, practitioner remedies are required to be given within consultation only.
Ask me if you have any questions about this, or you have a prescription from another homeopath. If you have been using homeopathic acute remedies and need refills, ask me. If you need to purchase or build an acute remedies a kit, please ask.
WHY SHOULD I HAVE A FULL CONSULTATION, IF I “JUST WANT A REMEDY FOR THIS (INSERT CONDITION)” ?
It is futile to keep trying different remedies, without any thought given to the homeopathicity (similarity) to THE PATIENT, NOT THE DISEASE.
Success of homeopathic prescribing depends upon individualisation of the remedies to the patient, AND following homeopathic principles throughout the case taking and follow ups.
The aim is to work through any layers of chronic illness over time, increase your resilience in disease, prevent the development of more serious pathologies.
Homeopathy when managed by a professional homeopath is in the long term very economical and satisfying. The more of your “layers” we deal with, the better you
become, and less medicine is needed. Compare this, with the use of pharmaceutical medicines, where the more you take, the more you need to.
Homeopathy reduces the need for constant use of supplements like vitamins, as your health improves. Compare this also with the "blunderbuss" method of other practitioners, who insist upon MANY different medicines, supplements for a condition.
Having said that, I do occasionally prescribe (practitioner only products) herbs and nutraceuticals as needed. Also Homeobotanicals which are a hybrid of herbs and homeopathics. The main focus is on classical homeopathy.
I have over a quarter century of experience in homeopathic practice, and personally of working out my own remedies in some very intense and difficult personal chronic conditions, with success.
WHAT IS THE BEST HOMEOPATHIC REMEDY FOR VERTIGO, VESTIBULAR MIGRAINE, PPPD, BPPV, MENIERE’S DISEASE, DIZZINESS ETC?
Homeopathy now lists over 10,000 possible remedies at our disposal.
Synthesis Repertory in the RADAR OPUS homeopathic professional software lists over 700 single homeopathic remedies for “Vertigo”.
This list is by no means complete. Individualisation to the patient is imperative.
Many homeopathic remedies I prescribe are not in that list in the repertory.
I am working on a course for homeopaths on vestibular disorders, but I need to see a lot more patients with these problems before I complete it. It’s never really complete though, is it?
I decided to put my personal experience with vestibular and neurological issues to good use as I have researched much, having been through two major episodes of Vestibular Neuronitis and the many remaining symptoms.
Differences in the two episodes. Different remedies in homeopathy.
I intend to write regular blogs on this, but I will not be suggesting remedies. That is for private consultation for each individual person.
To get to the bottom of things. To unpeel the layers of chronic conditions, and get a deep and lasting result, not just ongoing palliative "band aid" treatments.
NO PALLIATIVE TREATMENTS??
Actually, homeopathy can be very helpful when there is little or no hope, to improve quality of life, relieve pains, nausea etc. Sometimes, we get "spontaneous remissions", or we "grow out of" things.
